Biography
Mitchell Byrd Snyder graduated from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, cum laude, in 2011 and from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, in 2014. In law school, Mitchell received the Talmadge Law scholarship, was a member of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law Editorial Board, served as a Dean’s Ambassador, and served as a research assistant to Professor Andrea L. Dennis.
Mitchell is licensed in all federal and state courts in Georgia and South Carolina. His practice focuses primarily on business law with an emphasis on litigation. He specializes in business disputes, commercial litigation, creditor’s rights, intellectual property litigation, construction litigation and probate litigation. Mitchell has tried over 50 cases to completion through bench and jury trials, as well as arbitrations. Mitchell is experienced in business law and represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of litigation matters including disputes between business owners, self-dealing by business insiders, shareholder deadlocks, contract disputes, fraud, misrepresentation, and theft. Mitchell has been named by Best Lawyers Ones to Watch for Commercial Litigation in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
Mitchell is active in the State Bar of Georgia serving as a district representative for the Young Lawyers Division and graduating from the Young Lawyer’s Leadership Academy. Mitchell has received the Award of Achievement for Service to the Public from the State Bar of Georgia for his work.
Mitchell has had multiple articles published including Reducing Personal Liability While Serving on Nonprofit Boards (YLD Review, Vol. 59, No. 1), Affiliate Spotlight: Young Lawyers of Augusta (YLD Review, Vol. 61, No. 4), and COVID-19 and the Lawyer as a Healer of the Community (YLD Review, Vol. 62, No. 1).
Mitchell married the former Annalee Houston of Dalton Georgia in 2018. They are active in their local church ChristChurch Presbyterian, where Mitchell currently serves as an Elder. They live in Dalton, GA with their son, Henry, daughter, Frances, cat, Prince Louie, and dog, Lottie. Mitchell enjoys running, playing tennis, and reading biographies of American presidents.
