Mitchell Byrd Snyder graduated from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business, cum laude, in 2011 and from the University of Georgia School of Law, cum laude, in 2014. In law school, Mitchell received the Talmadge Law scholarship, was a member of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law Editorial Board, served as a Dean’s Ambassador, and served as a research assistant to Professor Andrea L. Dennis.
Mitchell is licensed in all federal and state courts in Georgia and South Carolina. His practice focuses primarily in the area of business law with an emphasis on litigation. He specializes in business disputes, commercial litigation, creditor rights, intellectual property litigation, construction litigation and probate litigation. Mitchell has tried over 50 cases to completion through bench and jury trials, including representing a minority shareholder in a business dispute which resulted in a $1.2 million settlement, obtaining class certification for employees in an ERISA class action, representing class members in a FDCPA which was certified, and obtaining an injunction in federal court to halt the misuse of a client’s intellectual property rights. Mitchell is experienced in business law and represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of litigation matters.
Upon graduation from law school, Mitchell entered private practice in Augusta, Georgia where he worked for the largest firm in Augusta and was active in the community. Mitchell attended Warren Baptist Church, was named by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce as one of the Top Ten in Ten Young Professionals to Watch (2019), graduated from Leadership Augusta, served as President of the Central Savannah River Area Tennis Association, served on the Executive Committee of the Augusta Bar Association, served as President of the Young Lawyers of Augusta, was a member of the Augusta chapter of the Federalist Society, and served on the grants committee for the Augusta Bar Foundation. Mitchell is also active in the State Bar of Georgia serving as a district representative for the Young Lawyers Division and graduating from the Young Lawyer’s Leadership Academy. Mitchell has had articles published in the YLD Review including Reducing Personal Liability While Serving on Nonprofit Boards (Vol. 59, No. 1) and Affiliate Spotlight: Young Lawyers of Augusta (Vol. 61, No. 4).
Mitchell married the former Annalee Houston of Dalton Georgia in 2018. They moved to Dalton, Georgia in the spring of 2020 with their golden retriever, Oliver, and their cat, Prince Louie. Mitchell enjoys running, playing tennis, and reading biographies of American presidents.
